brother-olympic-skiing

In the mid-1990s, in a small suburban residential site in Michigan, there was truck driver who laid out in the family backyard a huge plastic and sprayed it with water.

The driver’s two sons upon seeing what their father has done have rushed in to play with the piece of plastic and used it to glide down.

That was a start of brothers Kip and Cory Carpenter’s immersion into the sport of skiing. The brothers kept their interest in skiing flaming even after the family had to move to Wisconsin a few years later.

The driver, Paul Carpenter, had no idea what was about to unfold to the family’s world, as the brothers start to really revolve their respective lives around the hard and challenging sport of skiing.

In 1998, Cory was able to secure a spot in the US skiing team

that was sent on that year to Nagano, Japan. Cory ended at the 29th place in that offshore skiing competition. Unfortunately, the younger brother, Kip was disqualified in the qualifying rounds.

That incident made stronger the ties that bound brothers Cory and Kip. Cory persuaded Kip to shift from short-track skiing to long track skiing. Kip gave in.

Four years later, in 2002, fate had ironically twisted the fate of the brothers.

Kip won a spot in the US Olympic team for 2002, but Cory was not able to make it. Paul was seen crying and sobbing for the victory of his one son, and the failure of another.

Skiing has been truly defined the way of life of the Carpenters brothers. Their ultimate goals as of this day: to finally get into tht major Olympics and dramatically walk their way together as brothers into the Olympic Opening Ceremonies.

Family stories

Similar stories abound in real life. Stories that would truly touch the hearts, arouse feelings and emotions and keep one interested and glued just like watching or keeping track of a daily daytime soap opera aired over free television.

Stories of brothers, sisters, families that are binded and at times, made to compete with each other in major sporting events like skiing.

Life indeed is mysterious and ever winding. Skiing is really challenging and amazing. The gliding motion and actions of skiers are to be associated to the movement and real life developments in the stories of people hooked into skiing.

Mankind is a great fan of different stories that the more they seem and look absurd and non-conventional, the more people crave for them.

Skiing

Skiing is a rapidly popularizing sports nowadays. Not all people, however, are lucky and fortunate enough to really perform and enjoy the game.

Nobody would ever say it is easy learning and getting into skiing. But the challenges and hardships are really worth it, as can be depicted by the various stories and anecdotes about victories and failures in the ever entwining world of the snow-gliding, breath taking sport called skiing.

It is time people recognize the sport seriously and consider the real-life drama involving skiing and family and individual lives.

The Carpenters brothers are indeed interesting and noble that their real-life drama and twists of fate, would be a story forever associated and related to their sport, skiing.
